DE undertook the mid-term evaluation of the ten-year strategy of the UNCCD. The former mechanism was an ad hoc Intersessional Working Group (IWG) to prepare recommendations on the mid-term evaluation under the direction of the Bureau of the COP. The team assessed many official documents (over 1000), reviewed website data, undertook interviews with UNCCD staff, members of delegations and civil society organizations and observed several meetings of the intergovernmental bodies of the UNCCD.
